There is a wide variety of different nose tips which also means that there have to be many different types of rhinoplasty surgery for fixing the problem.
Mr Rowe-Jones contributed to a session in Las Vegas on nasal bridge augmentation and the different techniques in this surgery, moderated by Jay Calvert.
At this session in Las Vegas Mr Rowe-Jones was talking with other specialists from his field about techniques in nasal tip protection and tip de-protection.
This session concentrated on reducing the nasal bridge hump and twisted or deviated noses. Mr Rowe-Jones prefers the open approach in both cases.
At the last two sessions Mr Rowe-Jones was discussing techniques for the surgery on the bulbous tip and how they can be optimated to reduce the risks.
When implants are needed in rhinoplasty, using a patient’s own tissue instead of implants made of plastic to build up their own nose is the best principle.
I lectured at the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery annual meeting in Turkey about a diagnostic approach to surgery for the bulbous nasal tip.
